In order to keep costs down, the Government will restrict your expensive and critical testing procedures. http://mediamatters.org/research/200911130002 Quoted from a liberal website defending Government Run Health Care - MYTH 16: Health care reform will impose rationing CLAIM: Progressive health care reform proposals will introduce a system of "rationing" into American medicine. REALITY: Insurance companies already ration care. Insurance companies acknowledge that they ration care, restricting coverage of procedures and tests like MRIs and CAT scans and denying coverage for pre- existing medical conditions. There is nothing in H.R.3962 to keep the Government from denying you a critical test like an MRI or CAT scan. http://hdl.loc.gov/loc.uscongress/legislation.111hr3962 8. Does alcohol cause birth defects? (link to Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASDs)) Q. Does smoking cause birth defects? A woman who smokes while she is pregnant has a greater chance of having a premature (early) birth, a small baby, or a stillborn baby. Q. Do illegal drugs cause birth defects? Women who use illegal drugs, or “street drugs,” can have babies who are small, premature, or have other health problems, such as birth defects. Women who use cocaine while pregnant are more likely to have babies with birth defects of the limbs, gut, kidneys, urinary system, and heart. Other drugs, such as marijuana and ecstasy, may also cause birth defects in babies. 10. It would be $2Trillion tax payer dollars cheaper to just fix our current health care system by lowering health insurance costs. a - http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/106xx/doc10688/hr3962Rangel.pdf a - On a preliminary basis, CBO and JCT estimate that H.R. 3962’s provisions affecting health insurance coverage would result in a net increase in federal deficits of $894 billion over fiscal years 2010 through 2019. (just like any government project just double or triple the CBO's estimate for a more realistic cost) b - The Republican Bill that many Americans would like to see instead of Government Run Health Care should include - 1. Lowering health insurance costs by placing limits on fees and damages for malpractice lawsuits. 2. Lowering health insurance costs by making the sale of and use of all health insurance policies available across all state lines. 3. Make all health insurance companies cover pre-existing conditions (even though this would raise health insurance costs) 4. Reduce Medicare and Medicaid fraud by going after fraudulent cases and saving taxpayers over $60Billion dollars. 5. Give a tax credit to those individuals that purchase health insurance for themselves and their families. 6. Discontinue Government health care programs for the wealthy. Keep everything else the same. Most Americans are happy with their current healthcare, but would like to see their insurance costs reduced. Those that cannot afford health insurance, and those undocumented aliens in our country, would continue, by law, to receive treatment in our emergency rooms. -- Thanks for being part of "PoliticalForum" at Google Groups.
