Ok, lets compare...

Democrats:
>From January 3 to January 20, 2001, Tom Dachle was indeed the majority
leader....for 17 days!
Democrats remained in control after November 25, 2002, despite a
Republican majority resulting from Jim Talent's special election
victory in Missouri. There was no reorganization as Senate was no
longer in session.

Republicans:
>From December 2, 1994 to June 6, 2001 Trent Lott was majority
leader....minus 17 days.
>From 2003 to 2007 Bill Frist was majority leader.

Let's add the years up now.

Democrats: 2 years.
Republicans: 12 years
