Glenn Beck is rightfully critical of both the Republicans and the Democrats in Congress. The Republicans, supposedly, want smaller and more fiscally responsible government. But no matter how many well- meaning Republicans get elected, our government, just like a CANCER, keeps growing. There’s so much talk about government—and so much that is being said that isn’t true—that its becoming increasingly clear that few people, nor any group(s), have a handle on correcting the problems that threaten us all. But if the USA is to survive, the problems must be corrected!
One way to assess the problems in the government status quo is to realize that most of what transpires during congressional processes is simply wasted TALK. To get elected, the candidates who can make the best speeches seem to be showing the ‘potential’ of having the most power. But the very notion that it’s desirable to have… powerful representatives is a slap-in-the-face to the high standards of DEMOCRACY. The latter should be the benchmark of what gets done in and by government! Counter to the will of the Founding Fathers, Congress is now a battleground where factions are pitted against factions—and particularly, party against party. By the time anything useful (or not so useful) gets done, the brain-drain on members of Congress will have been so high, that those members quickly close their minds to even the possibility that what has transpired probably wasn’t ideal. The effect is that this country is saddled with too many laws that don’t make the USA a better place. Rather than realize the failures of government, or even the causes of the failures, members of Congress will, mainly, remember their own wasted rhetoric, or the LOSS of the party ideals to which most of them too willingly defer. Those with big egos, like most in Congress have, don’t take lightly any losses in their political… games. Apparently, it’s more important to win internal political battles than it is to be responsive to the provable Will of the People. The first sentence in my New Constitution says: “The Will of the People is the foundation of government.” Our present run-away and out-of-control government has no foundation either in the original Constitution nor in my New Constitution. The latter is based upon the former. And such clarifies and is expanded beyond the former. Effectively, the majority of what Congress does, or ever has done, is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. From day one, the anti-democracy US Senate was in violation of the SPIRIT of the Constitution (because the members don’t represent equal-size electorates). Since the US Constitution is now, and has always been, the primary Law of the Land, then the MAJORITY of those in Congress are criminals—mostly due to fraud, bribery and malfeasance. When members of Congress don’t respond to the will of their electorates, that’s malfeasance. Numerous polls show that about 61% of American People don’t want government controlling health care— which would be about 16% of the US economy. So, all of those in Congress, and especially Barack Obama, who have wasted any time pushing for the “political” objectives of national health care reform, are guilty of malfeasance, fraud (having promised to uphold and defend the Constitution, then not doing so), and bribery (bowing to political pressure to do things that the PEOPLE simply do not want!! It’s apparent, following the fraudulent election of Barack Obama, and the accompanying majority held in both houses of Congress by the Democratic Party, that our government is little more than an anti- democracy GAME. Effectively, those on the winning side in any election believe that they have been granted license to lord-it-over the sad losers. But be it known: “NO DEMOCRACY NOR REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC can exist where any groups—especially political parties—have, or aspire to have, power that is greater than one-person-one-vote!” Recently, I chanced to be channel-flipping near CNN. I heard newscaster Tony Harris lamenting: (I paraphrase) “It looks like the Republicans will make gains in 2010. After that, the Democrats will probably swing back into power. How can we stop those things from happening?” I exclaimed, out-loud, to the TV: “Ratify my New Constitution!” >From day one, political parties have been UNCONSTITUTIONAL! The original Constitution makes no allowance for there being pseudo- governmental clearing houses for determining whom our representatives can be. And the Founding Fathers never intended that Congress be allowed to make… RULES that are diametrically opposed to the principles expressed in the Constitution, itself. The later restriction surely relates to NOT allowing party affiliation to affect the chairmanships of committees, nor whom the “leadership” of Congress can be. In a DEMOCRACY, there shall be no ‘leadership’ beyond the Will of the People! As long as our government remained small—as during its first century and a half—few would have cause to criticize it. But government, or more particularly, the culture of government, started evolving away from the ideals of the Founding Fathers. That was due, primarily, to the unjustified media coverage of our elected officials in Washington, because of the power of those on the national stage. But the Founding Fathers never intended that members of Congress be ‘powerful’, or even be ‘leaders’! Members of Congress were intended to respond to, and to represent, ONLY their electorates in each home district. From day one, any particular representative shall be on a ‘power parity’ with each of the other representatives. So, any rule, procedure, or cultural aspect of government that says otherwise is unconstitutional! Over the past century, the MEDIA has absolutely screwed-up our government. It does so by causing government to be controlled by an elitist group of high-talking, CAREER politicians. The latter remain in office, largely, due to having their names and images being constantly displayed by the media. Unfortunately, the poor, innocent voters tend to associate media exposure with… POWER. It’s the unjustified notion that there be POWER in our elected officials that will bring down this country… unless corrected! And correct that my New Constitution will! ** The media shall be prevented from assessing any news relative to governmental processes.** The media can, however, COVER the news, but without comment or interpretation. All 24-7 news shows where the newscasters or moderators get to give their biased comments concerning what is transpiring in or concerning government, will be outlawed. Never again will “panels of experts” be allowed to pick apart whatever is happening in our governing processes. And never again shall there be any polling regarding elections or referenda. The 24-7 coverage; those unending assessments; and the usually questionable polling, have effectively turned this country’s electoral processes into SPORTING EVENTS or GAMES. And never again shall our governing processes be allowed to be subject material for comedians or commentators. Shows like that of “progressive” Bill Maher will become unconstitutional. And allowing any supposed celebrity to express their personal political opinions in any media will close down the show. Larry King and David Letterman will be out of jobs. Let there be Power to the People! I have mixed feelings that Gov. Sarah Palin is now a contributor on FOX. Her staying on-the-fence for too long regarding saving the USA won’t help things. Palin recently ’slipped’ and called the USA a… democracy. The latter was the IDEAL of the Founding Fathers which was never realized. My New Constitution will guarantee that the PEOPLE will be at the top of the pecking order in this country! There will be democracy-on-demand for every issue of great controversy—like national health care. * I summarize, below, some of the changes necessary to correct our broken government. All patriots among us are urged to tell friends, relatives and associates about a South Carolina man who has penned and polished a New Constitution of the United States of America. Where there is talk, there can be victory for America! Respectfully submitted, — John A. Armistead — * The New Constitution will: 1. Limit those who represent us in the House to people who have never held public office before, nor (except for time spent in the military) ever worked full-time for the government. 2. Ban the US Senate from existence, because such body has always been the height of anti fairness and anti democracy. (The cost of government will go down, and its efficiency will go up!) 3. Outlaw all political parties! Never again will this country be split… down-the-aisle. 4 Criminalize lobbying by professionals, or amateurs, who represent a particular faction or group. Any person who systematically contacts representatives to influence their votes, other than their own home district representative, shall be guilty of a felony. 5. Ban the media, and its many parts, from commenting on or assessing anything regarding pending elections or referenda. News can be “covered”, i.e., played back as real time audio or video recordings, but no person employed by any medium; invited onto shows by a medium; nor any celebrity shown via the media shall assess or comment on elections or referenda issues—at risk of committing a felony. 6. Ban the media from having access to the US Capital. And ban representatives from talking to any medium whose viewing audience or readers is outside of that representative’s home district or state. 7. Remove the authority of the House to raise taxes above set, pre- defined limits, without a national vote of the People. And allow having public votes on any issue of great controversy. 8. Increase the ‘provisional’ vote for passage of a bill to 55%. And require that all bills passing by less than 60% be re voted every four years. 9. Strip all formerly abused powers from the Judiciary, which shall become a LESSER branch of government. 10. Spell out dozens of offenses by government officials and employees which shall get them fired and/or imprisoned. Such firings can be instigated by any law abiding citizen observing the infraction(s). 11. Require that all government officials and employees take a loyalty oath to serve the PEOPLE (rather than some perceived ’boss’ in government). 12. Completely revamp the ‘cultures’ and processes in law enforcement which have, effectively, let the USA become a police state. No more can law enforcement have immunity from prosecution because such is acting as an arm of government. Any person working for government, including public officials, can be sued in civil court, or charged in criminal court just like those outside of government. 13. Stripping the requirement that jury verdicts be unanimous both for guilt or for innocence. The latter… ‘for innocence’ neutralized the Founding Father’s fervent hope that no person go to prison, nor be put-to-death, for a crime or offense which they didn’t commit. My New Constitution will come close to guaranteeing that no innocent person will ever go to jail! 14. Require that companies based in the USA that do business in other countries, shall not damage the public health nor the natural environment either here nor abroad. (For example: No more selling of cigarettes to other countries as though the eventual killing of those people is somehow an acceptable business practice.) 15. Require that every ‘law’ on the books be reviewed and revoted— with full citizen input. No law shall exist that isn’t agreeable to at least 55% of the voters. _____ Government ‘As You Like It’ http://groups.google.com/group/politicalforum/browse_thread/thread/ae6e586e2406bf76/0a27c2c9e0ab3902?hl=en#0a27c2c9e0ab3902 THE FOUNDING FATHERS WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE OUR GOVERNMENT, TODAY. http://groups.google.com/group/politicalforum/browse_thread/thread/f3571de031791f1e/1ad0ffb427f2d671?hl=en#1ad0ffb427f2d671 PLAYING THE GAME TO BRING DOWN AMERICA http://groups.google.com/group/politicalforum/browse_thread/thread/351908b1ce584e2b/de2b3c61d914bed1?hl=en#de2b3c61d914bed1 There’s Only One Way for the Tea Party Movement to WIN. http://groups.google.com/group/politicalforum/browse_thread/thread/8ecb9014d9b7d3df/cbf5ac1d0ea558bd?hl=en#cbf5ac1d0ea558bd __________ -- Thanks for being part of "PoliticalForum" at Google Groups.
