It helps if an OT: (Off Topic) or PSA: (Public Service Announcement) pre-text accompanies the topic header if it's not relevant to this forum. Other irritations include a topic header that you have no idea what it's about, and/or only use one word as a description. i.e. "Interesting", or "Magic", or "Read", or "Hey"... A good header topic text can either make or break any interest or hope of discussion or debate. Most of this other silly stuff isn't worth it. It's akin to watching cartoons, but in their own mind, they're a great movie director. But I digress, back to the reasons why the board is dead... it's partly due to Obama himself. Even his supporters are having a hard time sticking up for the guy, when in reality, no one knows what's going to happen with so many issues on his plate. Add to that a lackadaisical Congress who doesn't know it's a majority in what many love to refer to as a Republic.
