Amongst all the chit-chat about all the various health care proposals there has been proposed a cut in Medicare and Medicaid. This makes little sense on the face of it. Why would some propose spending a TRILLION dollars on new health care spending, and then CUTTING the current government health care programs?
Consider this: Medicare and Medicaid go to the old, poor, infirm or those who through all three conditions somehow fulfill the requirements for receiving government health care in some form. So if these are already the people on government provided health care, why when government proposes national health or some such, does government even consider cutting ANY health services they offer? Makes no sense, logically at least. Take out the logic and now consider this. Do the poor pay taxes? NOPE! Does the infirm pay taxes? NOPE! Do retired folks pay taxes? Very little, for the most part. Ahhhhh....Now some light is shed on the darkness of confusion. In terms of political power, who has the least? The poor, the old, the infirm. Who is it who contributes little to the amalgam? The poor, the old, the infirm. Who is it who sucks up most of the money for government provided health care dollars at present? The poor, the old, the infirm. Remember folks, in so far as the evidence presents, every national health care system in the world provides some form of rationed care, excepting perhaps the filthy oil rich areas of the world. We know the horror stories from England and Canada.
