I think this would be a better plan for the Middle East. There is a Hell of a lot more oil over there anyway. We set off a few nukes, make a giant crater, have a huge, sizable oil reservoir that belongs solely to the United States.
Meanwhile, we evacuate any and all folks who wears dirty laundry on their heads. They are relocated to Chad, or Siberia, makes no difference. We make them leave their homes, and all walk through metal detectors upon leaving. We provide them with a Chevy Chevette or a Ford Escort, and a fine new mobile home upon their arrival at their new location. Employment in the United States solved. Detroit's Motor City problems solved. Energy shortage solved; Terrorism solved; The "Palestinians/Jews/Towel Head problem"......All solved.
