That would have been in the next response.

You got back just in time to listen to our wonderful people from Wisconsin. Looks like they finally got some people in office there who have some balls and are willing to stand up for fixing the problems. My home state also looks like they are up to fixing them as well (Ohio). About time. I have been reading all the posts from Wisconsin on Althouse and Instapundit all weekend and marveling at how strong this new governor is standing. He is really making the rest of them look like real midgets these days.

Good Morning from Tampa Dick!
That pretty much sums up 'Tommie's whole political ideology, with a couple of exceptions....You left out that Tommie is ignorant, ill informed and not at all well read or versed on most subject matter that he chooses to cut and paste articles about or that he attempts to discuss.

I am gay and I don't want to embrace it. Whole lot of noise about
not much at all. Just something more that people like you can try

get a life outside your sex orientation. That appears to be the
only thing that matters to you. The nation can go to Hell so long

        Wrong again.

Civil unions are lesser, unequal contracts which do not
        provide the
same rights and benefits as civil marriage. Second class unequal
        citizenship is unacceptable.

To repeat yet again, civil marriage is distinct and separate from
        religious marriage.

Marriage equality is coming. Embrace it.

            Tommy,

            Hurray for Hawaii !!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you realize that no one on this forum has anything
            against
Civil Unions that are co-equal in all ways with "MARRIAGE".

I do have a MAJOR problem with "MARRIAGE" being allowed
            for same sex
individuals, as does the dictionary and even the bible....
            here is the
verse that the "Wedding Song" is based on...

Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
            Wives,
submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the
            Lord. For the
husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the
            head of the
church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as
            the church is
subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own
            husbands in
every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ
            also loved the
church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify
            and cleanse it
with the washing of water by the word. That he might
            present it to
himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or
            any such
thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So
            ought men to
love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his
            wife loveth
himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but
            nourisheth and
cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are
            members of his
body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall
            a man leave
his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife,
            and they two
shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak
            concerning
Christ and the church. Nevertheless let everyone of you in
            particular
so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that
            she reverence
            her husband.
            --Ephesians 5:21-33

The bible does NOT say that two men (or women) should not
            be legally
joined. Just don't use a word (marriage) that has obvious
            religious
            overtones to describe it.

Hawaii lawmakers approve civil unions for gay couples

Hawaii state legislators on Wednesday approved civil
                unions for gay
couples, and Gov. Neil Abercrombie said he would sign
                it into law.

The Hawaii Senate approved the proposed law by a vote
                of 18-5, sending
it to Abercrombie for his signature. It had earlier
                been approved by
                the House.

Throughout his campaign last fall, Abercrombie said he
                supported laws
giving same-sex couples in civil unions the same
                rights, benefits,
protections and responsibilities of spouses in a marriage.

"I have always believed that civil unions respect our
                diversity,
protect people's privacy, and reinforce our core
                values of equality
and aloha," Abercrombie said in a statement after the
                vote. "For me
this bill represents equal rights for all the people
                of Hawaii."

The law Abercrombie will sign is essentially the same
                as the measure
that then-Governor Linda Lingle, a Republican, vetoed
                in July when she
cited a "flawed" legal process as her reason for not
                giving her
                approval.

It would make the Aloha State the seventh state to
                grant essentially
the same rights of marriage to same-sex couples
                through civil unions
                or similar laws.

Five U.S. states and the District of Columbia issue
                marriage licenses
to same-sex couples, according to the National
                Conference of State
Legislatures. New Jersey allows civil unions.

As lawmakers debated the measure, residents from both
                sides of the
issue packed the gallery. Those supporting Civil
                Unions wore rainbow
silk-flowered lei. After the vote, the gallery erupted
                in cheers and
                clapping.

Republican Sen. Sam Slom urged his fellow members to
                vote against it
because he said the government has no business
                mandating marriages.

Tara O'Neill, president of the gay activist group
                Pride Alliance
                praised the measure.

"I have a great sense of pride for the Legislature
                that was able to
see the big picture of equality for Hawaii," O'Neill said.
