She took most his wieght on herself, as she knew the child couldn't support him at all, but she wanted Kat to feel useful. The climb up the stairs was a long and tiring process. Alex aske Kat to get the door to Derek room and to turn on the lights and turn down the bed. After she got him sitting she said, "okay just lie back."
