Nick smiled and leaned in
kissing her on the nose taking the icing off of her nose. He then rose her hand
up and took a bite of the cupcake himself.
They finished off the cupcake
and Julia looked at the others. It had been a great surprise but it was
also obvious that it was nearing bedtime for a few of them. She pointed
her thumb at Derek for Kat to see. The Precept was half asleep with his
head leaned into the back and corner of the chair, the cupcake he was eating
balanced in his hand.
"Let me help you with this."
She whispered to Kat as she lifted the box to take back to the kitchen to store
"And you can help Alex take Derek up to his room if you'd
like?"
She looked back at Nick,
thinking he would want to tuck Kat in and mouthed "Meet you upstairs." before
turning to Philip and wishing him a good night with a
grin.
Then she headed toward the
kitchen.
