"I think I need to see a picture," Alex told him matter of factly. She
wasn't sure after all. It was just a hunch. A vague memory. She stood up
and hurried to his room entering it quickly locating the book, bless his
little organized heart, well at least when it came to some things. His desk
on the other hand was an unmitigated disaster are that she had no desire to
think about at the moment. She carried the book downstairs, afraid to leave
him alone for too long, he'd been turning rather pale when she left.
Alex sat down beside him and began to flip through the pages rapidly,
looking for a particular photo she remember. Her breath caught in her
throat when she spotted it. She looked up at Derek and slid the album in
front of him. It wasn't necessary for her to point out which one she had
been viewing. It was quite obvious, a picture of Ingrid and Derek together
as children, Ingrid around six years old and Derek 3. She'd recalled the
picture, because she had thought it absolutely adorable, but had never told
him that.
