 Thanks. It is a Debian distro. I'm gonna try chasing this down on a few
fronts. I was going to try using shmpps since it doesn't require a
kernel patch. If that pans out, I just might call it a day. If not,
I'll look back at my DB9 wiring/connections and/or the firmware issue
with the GPS 18.

 Of course, as luck would have it, I issued a reboot to my linux box
remotely from work and it doesn't seem to have come back online. So I've
been kicked out until I get home this evening. At the same time, I'm
heading out for a week long ski trip to Vermont and Quebec, Canada. So
I doubt I'll have any time to play with this until next week.  :)
