Most businesses use a mix of published S1/S2 timeservers, the public NTP pool, and vendor provided NTP servers like time.apple.com, time.windows.com, and so forth-- assuming they don't get their own GPS, ACTS, or other reference timesources internally. > I see the numbers on total v4/v6 servers in the pool, but does that really > translate into > a meaningful impact to the world? Anybody sync'ed to NTP for some time already has the intrinsic offset saved to a drift file, which ought to keep even freewheeling boxes reasonably well sync'ed for weeks.
