I realized this isn't happening at midnight EDT -0400, but at UTC time which will be 7:59p EDT.
It will happen at 23:59:59 UTC on 30. June 2012, e.g. in about 26 hours and 39 minutes from now. :)
But now I'm wondering, will NTP pickup the change at 8:00p EDT? Or must I do something to catch the change?
As far as I know and understand, if an ntpd knows about the leap second (e.g. through leapsecond file from NIST), it starts to announce this to the clients one day before the leap second will happen.
You could check with 'ntpq -c rv <ntp-server>', in the output the 'leap=00' should change to 'leap=01' and if I am correct, after the leap second has happen, the 'tai=34' should change to 'tai=35' (the new offset).
It was discussed in one of the thread in the last few days. bye Fabian _______________________________________________ pool mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ntp.org/listinfo/pool
