Hi Rob, The DNS server supports this (also targeting by ASN), but it’s murky what exactly the desired behavior is. A variation I’ve considered is to allow networks to specify servers to prioritize for the SNTP clients and in one of the “numbered zones”, but how do you validate that you are an ISP X network admin vs just some customer? It seems “obvious” that something like what you suggest would get closer/better servers, but other considerations are getting diversity, load balancing clients among the servers, etc. There are also obvious new avenues for targeted mischief. As this thread shows, quickly you can come up with many alternative good ideas, making it unclear what’d be more worthwhile to implement.
