Personally, I think that a person has a lot of control over the amount
of privacy they get on the net and otherwise...

I sign up for a few things on the net, and almost never give them good
info. Like the site that thinks I'm BillyBob C. Linton of 1600b
transylvania ave, email address billybob@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (intentional
mangling of address)...

For those sites that have to send me a confirmation code or whatnot, I
give them an encoded address, usually blj8+the first letter of each
syllable of the site's name. Like for virtualactive.com I used
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Once I get the info needed, I turn that address into
a black hole.

It all comes down to what you voluntarily give these suckers...
