and why not? i personally like their music just as much as will oldham's
recent output. i don't know s club heisen so can't comment on them. nor on
the backstreet boys. i am fed up with people saying that because a band is
in the charts/makes a lot of hits, it doesn't make great music. take for
example the elephant six. me, i just hear a ramshackle club of obsessed
beatles fans. but because they are indie, they are deemed greater than spice
girls. the spice girls make fun music. why would that be less relevant than
for example stockhausen?

let's not be brainwashed by indie either. recently a friend of mine declared
his love for indie films adding that *hollywood films* were crap. as a
result he disliked "american beauty". so if it was indie he could have liked
it. and probably would have. funny.
if anyone could write it, why is there so little out there? remember that
when the spice gals appeared in 1996, there was in england a very dry
period. the spice girls gave a lot to the british industry (yes, i know a
lot of money).

yeah, definitely. i even see it with my father (who's a major northern soul
fan). i just don't see any point in treasuring a band that is obscure. the
music is what counts.
