london needs good electrical storm to clear the heat a little. but as far as i can
remember (and being anal, from checking the MET office website) thunderstorms tend
to happen late summer (august/september) here. which i suppose is why we haven't
had so many for a while.
last really big one i can remember over london (and living 19 floors up in a tower
block, i do notice them!) was in september last year. it seemed to be two or three
together as it had electrical epicentres over crystal palace, wembley and
somewhere northwest that i don't know the name of.
maybe it's just that we've noticed the weather so much recently that we don't
think there are as many thunderstorms.
if anything, i think they come a little more often than i recall from my
childhood.
