On a couple of topics-
Napster in my opinion is great. I mean, it's like the radio. You can get
all the songs you would never be caught dead buying- I mean, the ones that
you couldnt buy (out of print, rarities, B-sides from country-x that would
cost you an arm and a leg to get).
But these kids copying albums en masse? Something has to be done with that.
My napster files are pretty odd- "Damn it feels good to be a gangster" by
the Ghetto Boys, to Urban Dance Squad "deeper shade of soul". That is
personal use at its best- like using the radio to tape songs.
Also, is everyone implying that they would rather have an album come out of
their cold grey mass computer and screw the artwork and packaging? I dont
buy that. I, for one, love album artwork.
Artists are entitled to royalties, but I am not so sure the internet will
become that friendly. I mean, MP3.com is a mess of regions, genres and
text. I'd much rather check out a few bands a week than bother with
straining my eyes reading about them. I think this whole thing is a
conspiracy by microsoft to bind us all to their products, making sure we
pray to Gates before we do anything.
(PS, thanks for the email address)
and asking food advice to people over email? Then getting pizza? I'm all
about freedom of choice, but you no longer have a choice! I forbid you!
time to mow the lawn (looking more like a hayfield...)
