Hi,
Some years ago i mailed ports@ for removal of games/prboom-plus.
It got a response from its $MAINTAINER, but the discussion died.

tl;dr:
- prboom+ is not maintained/developed anymore.
- the last, final maintenance version, 2.6.66, is the last and final.
- our port is and old version, 2.5.1.4, before development moved to github.
- dsda-doom is its "spiritual successor", as announced upstream.
Our options are:
1. Remove games/prboom-plus, make it install games/dsda-doom instead
   (that's what debian did).
2. Update games/prboom-plus to final v2.6.66; never touch it again.
3. Port PrBoomX, yet another fork of PrBoom+; keep three comfusingly
homonymous ports: games/prboom{,-plus,x}, two of which ceased
   development.

What should we do?
