Let's say, commit it like this and I will test on prod for some time with
/var/empty and if it works fine, I will submit a patch before the 6.5 freeze
to "correct" this.


once it's installed on somebody's machine, the /etc/passwd line isn't going
to get changed even if it's updated in the package, so better get it right
the first time.


I have been testing it for a few hours only, but it seems right to change it to /var/empty. To be honest, I would have expected it to crash from the start if this was wrong. I don't really see any reason for it to not work with /var/empty as the config files were already tweaked for it.
