Since this might be the only time songs by Gram Parsons and
Radio-head end up on the same album, it is a relief to report that
Albuquerque's Hazeldine will have you drinking tears out of a shot
glass and banging the bar for more. On this all-covers album, Shawn
Barton and Tonya Lamm's haunted harmonies illuminate songs from the
inside, giving Peter Gabriel's delicately cracked "Cuckoo Cocoon" a
wraith-like glow, and turning bleak numbers from Radiohead ("Lucky")
and the Mekons ("Wild and Blue") into gems of dark, unsettling
     beauty.
