regarding the Candy Butchers,
if my memory serves (and there is no guarantee of that), one of the guys
from the Candy Butchers sang (and perhaps co-wrote) the title song from the
film "That Thing You Do."
The song was co-written by one of the Fountains of Wayne guys and I recall
this guy (either Adam or Chris) saying how it was weird to hear the voice of
their pal from the Candy Butchers' coming out of the actor's mouth. So maybe
it's the same guy you saw, or maybe I have the story totally screwed up in my
mind.

I saw a fellow open up for Varnaline and Sparklehorse that said he was
the front man for the Candy Butchers...I really liked the popish songs he
was playing, and wondering if anyone knew anything about the band...?
