> seems unlikely, but maybe you're misinterpreting "post-idle"?

I don't think so, per the help file:
For post-idle alarms, select the Post-idle radio button. The post idle alarm
command will be run after you move the mouse or press a key after an idle
alarm has occurred. Note that you must use an idle alarm in order for the
post-idle alarm to function; you can use an idle alarm with command set to
(none) if necessary. When a post-idle alarm occurs, the variable
lastidletime is set to the total number of seconds the computer was idle
(including idle time before the idle alarm occurred).

For example, if you want to mute sound while you are away from the computer,
use an idle alarm of *Exec VolumeAll 0 and a post-idle alarm of *Exec
VolumeAll 255.
----------------
I didn't necessarily need the computer to lock till you tried to wake it up.
I wasn't locking the workstation with the idle alarm because it was
interrupting the monitors going to sleep which was another idle alary that
was triggering at the same time.

Testing the example from the help file both idle and postidle, worked fine.

Using the post-idle alarm with the command:
Shutdown Lockworkstation noconfirm
More commands:
Message postidle triggered

the postidle doesn't trigger. If I make the command:
Message postidle fired
More Commands:
Shutdown Lockworkstation noconfirm

Then it does trigger. Looks like a bug with postidle if the first command is
of a certain type?
