I missed the thread, but I personally have NO PROBLEM in sharing Abandonware with anyone. If someone has an ancient and useful Claris app that I can happily use on my equally ancient PB145, I silently salute that long-gone firm and RUN it. No-one is losing money because I didn't buy the latest Bloatware that wouldn't run on the machine anyway, and I even appreciate how these early programmers managed to squeeze 75% of the features I need into a 800K floppy footprint. Yeah I know, I sound like Grandpa Walton hehe. Still, I miss some of those early apps. The companies are long gone, the machines considered obsolete, and yet often no contemporary app will do the same job as simply and elegantly as some of these little apps (even some DAs!) managed it.
