Does the iMac have a floppy?

If do, there are Disk Tools images on the web, available from both
Apple's site and from other sites (try a google search for Gamba
maybe, but he has a ton of stuff to sort through).

You can download a disk image and create a boot floppy of say 7.6
disk tools and boot the laptop from that. The easiest way is access
to a mac with a floppy drive; there isn't an easy way to make one
with a PC without getting REALLY involved and I've not tried to
create a system disk that way so it might not even work anyway.

You might have to mooch off of someone with a floppy on their mac.
The size of the file to downolad will be small (1.6 megs or so
encoded maybe) so even a tortuously ancient (like many of us here
know and love) classic mac from the goodwill store could work for
this, assuming HD floppy drives.
