Thanks to everyone for the tips. I put 8.5 on it as that is the CD I had on
hand, and it now works like a real Mac! I also ordered max RAM, so will
upgrade it to 9.1 when it arrives. Everything seems to work just fine, even
the Ethernet/Modem.
