Hi I had a problem something like this with a PB5300. For some reason the 5300 would not recognize the 6 gig drive at all. I had to put the drive in another laptop we have and format it there. I have never had any problem since with it. Also check the ram card that you just installed. They have a tendency to work loose. We have to open this one up once in awhile and push down on the ram chip. It looks tight, but it will work itself loose. I hope this helps.
