>what about networknavigation or webshare ? (if those are the correct >terms in english..)
No. Give up on the Serial-USB connection, it's not going to work unless you use terminal software to do something like a Z-modem file transfer. Both of what you refer to will not work over USB. TCP/IP can be made to work over USB on the Mac OS. However, TCP/IP will not work over serial on the PowerBook. MacIP will work over serial on the PowerBook, but MacIP will not work over USB on the iBook. Thus, you cannot use TCP/IP based applications (Network Browser, Personal Web Sharing) to transfer files with your PowerBook in that setup. Again, your only options are the following: - serial-USB zmodem file transfer - SCSI-Ethernet adapter for the PowerBook - Serial-Ethernet adapter for the PowerBook - Ethernet PC Card for the PowerBook - low-tech removable media (floppy, zip, cd, whatever) that both machines can use - use a modem on the PowerBook to dial up to your ISP, email yourself whatever files you need to transfer, disconnect, connect with your iBook, download the email, etc Peace, Drew -- Author of ClassicStumbler email: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> web: <http://homepage.mac.com/alk/> Want to know if your neighbor has Wi-Fi?
