Hopefully I will be receiving my 3400c PowerBook today. Its still in the mail. Ten days for airmail from Michigan to Ontario seems excessive to me...
Already early today I received a couple of brand new batteries that I bought over the internet. A fellow had them for sale described as "Li-Ion Batteries for PowerBook 3400c" What I received were batteries that say on them that they are "Macintosh Lithium Ion Rechargable Battery for PowerBook G3" The battery model number is M4399 I looked up battery info in the Service Manual for the PowerBook 3400c / G3 PowerBook and it says this: Main Battery For their main batteries, the PowerBook 3400c and G3 use lithium ion (LiIon) batteries. Each battery provides power for up to four hours of work time. Note : Although these batteries fit into a Power- Book 190/5300, it will not recognize or charge them. Note: To use the PowerBook G3 battery in a PowerBook 3400c, you may need to install a software update. I'm curious about that last bit, the software update I "may" have to install on the 3400c in order to use these batteries. Anyone know what its called and where I can find it ???
