This too I suspect is because the Op systems that are best are 8.1 and 9.1

9.x uses too much precious RAM. 8.6 is the most stable of the 8.x's.

Not with the sonnet upgrade. Even sonnet warns against 8.6 with the
upgrade. I repeat, w/g3 upgrade, 8.1 or 9.1 ONLY

And I'm not sure what people consider a LOT of memory, but 9.1 on my 1400/G3400/ 60 RAM takes up 17.1 megs. And I have tons-o-crap (tm) loaded; 435 items in my extensions folder. I may have turned off the MacOS Help (AppleGuide, whatever it's called, that is a hog) and a couple things like that, but that's it.

9.1 is The place to be if you have the MHz, even if you are lower on RAM than 40 or 60.

8.5/6 has some bugs that will never get fixed, I agree with the 8.1 or 9.1 recommendation, if you want to use the G3 cards.

I have 2 24 meg stackables installed. From one of the long-time ebay 1400 seller who sold them as "matched".
