I think I have just bumped into the converter you speak of. It is not a cable, but a card/board that mounts almost flat to the bottom of the drive. It comes with a "reverser" that plug in to the connector on the drive and the connector on the "converter" board and has a connector for the cable at the other end of the converter board. (whew) Mine came with a 1gig IBM HD in a 520c that I bought. I *think* that the drive is dead (or I killed it by doing a low level format on an IDE) and have another 10 gig IDE en route (which I hope not to kill). -- All the Best,
