The PB 500 uses SCSI drives (< 1 GB), or EIDE drives which have been
"converted" to SCSI using an ADTX EIDE-to-SCSI converter.

Apple supplied these, and these are indeed found in Drive Setup, provided
the EIDE drive has Apple firmware.

A third-party also supplied these, but the drives do not have Apple
firmware, and these drives cannot be initialized using Drive Setup.

In all cases, the ADTX-converted drive is limited to 8 GB.

Performance is so-so.

But, what do you expect from an old PB?

Oh, yes, the cable for a "converted" drive is the same as any other SCSI
drive.
