There have been reports of incompatibilities with Sonnet cards and 8.[56].
In order, to try,

1. download the most current Extension from Sonnet.
2. upgrade to 9.1. (My 333 works fine in my 1400, but I leapfrogged
directly from 8.1 to 9.1.)
