Per Apple, minimum requirements are a Beige G3 or newer Mac except for the very first G3 Powerbook (the 'Kanga'), 64 MB ram (iirc, raised to 128 mb in 10.2), 4GB HDD.
10.3 was the first version to drop any of those systems, it dropped the beige G3's and the Wallstreet G3 powerbook.
