I used to read DOS floppies all the time in System 7, 8 & 9 on various
computers. As long as you have a high density disk drive and the
proper software installed it works perfectly. I've never tried double
density since I could never get them to work in PC floppy drives.
Getting MacOS to recognize the files is another thing, but then I was
usually transferring text and Stuffit files. I don't recall what
software needs to be installed to get it to work. I do recall it's
been available in the installer since at least system 7.5. I have
heard of software to allow windows to read Mac floppies, but I'm a
Unix guy and only use windows for my TV tuner card.
