Did you install the specific software for the card? I am asking because (I 
think) I remember a Global Village being recognized by a laptop of mine that 
did 
not have the needed software installed yet.

In a related question, do you have an "Alternate Ethernet" selection in your 
TCP/IP Control Panel?
