Tim, This may be on the tail end ... I thought, "Surely, someone would have replied to this by now."
So saying, In proper aircraft parlance, looking at the unit from the rear, the cover (or inspection door) is on the right side. Remove the two screws securing it at the rear (They originally were knurled knobs.) The whole right side panel slides to the rear. See the indentation at the rear portion of the side panel? Whang it (lightly) to the rear ... with the heel of your hand or a soft mallet. The rest of the case should be held together with pop rivets ... Not Solder !!! If it is soldered .... Look for other "Jury Rigging" done with "War' Plarrs " and a "Ball Ping" hammer.
