PTP video problem.
Veteran readers of this list may remember my post last Fall for info
regarding a PTP that I had upgraded with a G3/400 processor, more RAM,
Firewire and USB cards, and given to my son in Astoria, OR. All was well
for about 3 months but a power spike fried the power supply. I learned on
this list that a standard ATX type would work but while I was looking for
one, my son goes out and buys a (shudder) PeeCee, a Dell. So I had him ship
the PTP back to me here in Las Vegas via UPS. When it finally arrived it
had obviously been dropped (my guess would be at least 15 or 20 feet) as the
bottom styrofoam packing block was shattered, the case was bent, the PCI
cards were all out of their slots, drive bay and fans hanging by one screw,
in other words, it was a mess. After doing the "bodywork" I put everything
back together with the new power supply I'd found on eBay and,
SURPRISE!, It booted on the first try. All the drives work but there
is one problem: the only resolution the TwinTurbo128 video card is
supporting is 640 X 480. I know it was not like that before and if it was
damaged in the accident how can it work at all? I've tried it in 3
different slots but no change.

I know this has been a long story but different enough that listers may find
it interesting, so my question is this: Is it possible that the video card
only needs software drivers or, if it must be replaced, what would be a
reasonable choice?

All info will be appreciated,
Thanks, Ed
