Drew,
ATA/IDE drives are pretty much like SCSI in that they are typically all backwards compatible. Even if you buy the newest ATA133 drive, it will still work in an old Performa 630 on the internal IDE bus (with a limited space capacity). You don't necessarily need the newest fastest card. What is your bus speed and processor speed? If you are running a 200Mhz 604 with a 40Mhz bus, then you probably won't see the best results from a 133 card. Ebay around for a second hand original ATA card or an ATA66 card. Speed comparisons can be found on xlr8yourmac.com from various cards and most cards will handle two drives in master/slave mode with a performance hit when you use 2 drives.

Greg

All,

I'm looking around (finally) at putting an IDE/ATA card in my PowerTower Pro. I picked up a big honkin' drive a while back, and need an ATA/133 card to go with it! ;-)

FYI, I'm in digest mode.

Thanks,
Drew
