And finally, any recommendations for RAM, firewire, USB, and graphics cards? Is there anything better for this old box than the Radeon 7000?
Ram: Crucial
Firewire card: Granite Digital
USB card: Orange Micro or Belkin

These would be the "high end" price wise, but, all of these work well in a PTP 225 with upgrades. I never used an ATA card as the PTP had bays to spare and SCSI I HD's were available at bargain prices.

Is it fast enough to put a DVD-ROM drive in so as to watch movies?
Yup. You'll have to use the OS9 DVD player from Apple but it works fine.

I'm mostly just looking for ideas, as the machine is really only used for doing some Office 2001 stuff and Civ II right now. It's funny, I used to want one of these pretty badly in 1997, but now I don't really know what to do with it!
It makes a great server. Mine has a G3/400 ZIF, is running Jaguar (thanks to XPosFacto) and happily hums along. They're great old boxes.
