Search google for the 7.3.5 hard drive format utility from apple and
using resedit you can modify it to format any drive. Once you do
that, then the newer disk utility should be able to
repartition/format it.

I was previously running OS 8 on my PTP 200. I updated to OS 9. I
tried to reformat the drive using the OS 9.0 retail disc, but
couldn't. the drive(s) was previously formatted using Hard Disk
Tool Kit.
I've read several posts on the list about updating non-apple disk
drivers, all say it's easy and most say you can do it from the
Utilities section of the OS 9 disc. any suggestions?
thanks.
