Strange. If you have configured your internet control panel to connect
automatically when needed, I don't see why it wouldn't work with PM. But
I have not used Mac OS 9 for years now...

To reset everything (except the registration key) and start with an empty
database, just create a new user environment from the file/database menu.
To reset most of the preferences (those from the preferences dialog, from
the view options, and the position and size of the windows, columns etc)
but not the settings (those from the Setup menu), start PM while pressing
the command and option keys, and check the last two checkboxes.
Deleting the "PowerMail Prefs" file from the Preferences folder will have
no effect other than eventually ask you where is PowerMail user folder.
Deleting the "Setup Database" from your PowerMail user folder will reset
all the preferences and setups (accounts, filters...).
