There is one thing Cocoa can be good for.

Legacy code will die!
Like 64-bit file call will be forced to be used ;-)

I am not joking.  Apple rewrote Logic in Cocoa to kick legacy code out. 
Since I don't like Logic GUI, I have not paid for upgrade, but most of
the user forum seams to screaming that Logic got more bugs now.  Ha!

Disclaimer: There is no solid evidence the new bugs were introduced
because of Cocoa implementation.  I think it is just the usual version-1
thing.
