An error occurred while opening the user's file
Database error 5 (DB read error) in 9(DBGetRecord). Low level error 36.

This is what I get when I try to launch PowerMail.

the background:
something happened to my hard disk a couple days ago while I was updating
system software via software update. I *think* it was updating to
10.2.4?? I got the blinking ? at startup---no hard disk to be found. I
spent a day with Norton's, resurrecting about 14 out of 18 gigs worth of
files on my disk, but the PowerMail app was not among these. My PowerMail
Files folder WAS recovered, however, so I saved it, along with the rest
of the 14gigs, reformatted my drive and started over. I re-DL'd
PowerMail, and now it won't launch, due to the above error... I tried
removing the PowerMail Files folder from my 'mail' folder in my users/
mail folder, just to see if it would launch with no 'previous knowledge'
of me, but that doesn't work either...

Can someone help? Can my old user files be resurrected? I'd sure like
access to my old mail and address book, etc..

thanks,

Jo
