Thanks for that suggestion of a term for messages not of use to the recipient, but of use to someone on the mailing list. I'd not seen that before. A much better term than "spam". I apologize to anyone who took offense at my use of the term "spam" (in quotes) in reference to messages from the PowerMail list I don't find of interest.
One question: does "noise" include extraneous posts (i.e. not really on topic), posts not of interest to me, or both?
