Hmm... good suggestion. :) Though the desired app is not always sitting
in the dock ahead of time.

But these are just attachments, too. So are you saying that only
particular attachments get trashed? Hmm, further examination required...

Yeah, I know.
See, I use Quick Silver to launch apps so I don't really need Dock, but
I put apps there for this very reason. There are only limited number of
apps I need for this, like Preview and Adobe apps as well as coding tools.

I just got two more. I clear them out by firing up Mail and getting rid
of them.

What's CTMDev doing about this?

I don't have any problem by keeping html turned off and not downloading
large files until I see who they are from. My limit is 1000 kb set in
mail settings and locations.

You probably haven't gotten one of these yet. It's an 11k message. It
hangs Powermail as it is downloading the message, before it gets
rendered on the screen.

Apple's Mail program has no problems with these messages.

This can occur when a message is received with an attached file whose
name contains a null character. It will be fixed in version 5.6.2,
currently in internal test.

Sorry, but what exactly is a null character?
