How do you calibrate the GN neutron component? Please include: 1. In-house or external facility used - In-house 2. Source used - PuBe or AmBe 3. Basic geometry - 100 mrem exposure to front face of ANSI Neutron phantom 4. Acceptance criteria - +/- 20% 5. Any issues or problems - new dosimeters come calibrated with a 12% safety factor (neutron response is automatically 12% high). To facilitate calibration of new dosimeters, adjust neutron factor downward by 12% before first in-house calibration exposure. Gamma display is turned off and neutron only dose is displayed (less distracting to workers) so workers use a separate DMC-2000S for gamma and DMC-2000GN for neutron. Manual issue to workers is required so peer check of dose/dose rate alarm is important to prevent HU errors. These neutron dosimeters cannot be used in PAM/iPAMs so you won't have amplified alarams or telemetric capability with these devices. Any response would be greatly appreciated!
