Mike,

Our primary focus is on water clarity, especially in the refueling pool and as
such we use a Tri-Nuc vac hooked up to a surface skimmer. Accumulated debris,
etc., is rinsed into the liquid radwaste system following each refueling
outage. We would rather keep high level material in the pipes and avoid
creating > class C waste.

We also supplement this cleaning with installed systems such as pool cooling
and clean-up, but nothing that would be considered as the latest technologies.

Seth.

Subject: Powernet: Underwater Vacuum Technologies

Millstone Power Station is currently looking to upgrade our underwater
vacuuming capabilities. We currently using a Tri-Nuc 260 or 600 and are
working with an older robot (parts are a challenge) or a series of poles (2"
cam-luc aluminum) attached to a vacuum head. Does anyone have suggestions on a
better technique or latest robot technologies you've had success with? Thank
you for your help.
