Under vessel (Incore sump area) is posted VHRA and locked with VHRA key.
Incore system is taken out of service. Any work group entering
containment signs onto the out of service. Exception is when we are
actually doing maintenance on drive boxes that requires a temp lift of
the OOS or potential for detector movement. We have detailed plan for
that activity.

North Anna uses the lockout / tagout process. HP signs out on the
master tagout for the incore system. This prevents the system from
being operated without our knowledge/consent. In addition, we lock and
post our under vessel area to prevent access

We do administratively control lock and prevent access to our under
vessel area when retracting the guide thimbles, moving the incore
detectors, or when the incore detectors are not in storage (in the core
or storage well).

We do not normally lock our seal table room during refueling outages.

Subject: Powernet: Incore System Controls During Refuel Outages

Robinson has the following question for other PWRs:

How do you ensure that Incore detectors are not inadvertently operated
during refueling outages while personnel are present in containment?

Is a clearance routinely taken out on your Incore System at the
beginning of a refueling outage?

Do you normally keep your seal table room locked during refuel outages?
