How do other plants transport temporary shielding without challenging industrial safety limits? What are the industrial safety limits at other facilities concerning "Lifting weight"?The Industrial Safety Guide at San Onofre states the maximum lifting weight per person is 50 lbs. and anything more requires mechanical help or the assistance of more than one person. Most lead blankets used for temporary shielding at San Onofre are 1'X6' (60 lbs) and 1'X5' (50 lbs) with an occasional 1'X5' high density blanket (75 lbs). Carrying lead blankets is awkward for one person, and more awkward for two people however easier and less strenuous with one person alone. Placing shielding in our containment building is performed mostly without machine carts and other devices due to the design which increases the probability of injury. So......
